The Duke 155753 High Limit Thermostat works by checking the temperature of the inside of the equipment to ensure that it does not overheat when in use. It operates by having the sensing element sense temperatures that are higher than the predetermined limit, and then cut off the heating cycle until the conditions are reestablished to a safe range. This thermostat will be installed in the control or heating assembly of the unit with its sensing probe in contact with the location where temperature control is needed to provide adequate thermal control.
