The Garland 2200799 Pilot Assembly works by providing a small continuous flame that is used to light up the main burner when the oven is switched on. The mechanism is that it directs gas through the pilot line to the ignition point where the flame is sustained to help maintain the burner on throughout the cooking process. This is fitted in the oven close to the burner compartment and is linked to the gas supply and aligned to the main burner so that it can be properly ignited during operation.
