The Garland 224004 Door Spring with hooks 5.419" used to provide the door move by stretching when the door opens and contracting when the door closes to help it move back to its original position. It operates by storing the mechanical energy in the coils as the moved and releasing the energy as the door swings back. This spring is mounted between the door and the frame or hinge area and is mounted in such a way that the hooks fit into specific anchor points. The length and spacing of its hooks enable it to be in the door assembly and be aligned with existing points of attachment.
