Description

The Hobart 428428-000G1 Wire Assembly Insulated Tab conducts electrical current between components in equipment to complete circuits when equipment is being operated. These are connected to terminals and ensure distance between conductive surfaces with the flow of power or signals flowing. It is mounted in the internal electrical compartment to either join controls, switches, or operating elements. The conductor is enclosed with insulation to reduce contact with other components. This wire assembly is such that it can follow previous routing paths and connection points of electrical services or replacement of components.

Dimensions:

  • Weight: 0.04 lbs
  • Length: 8 in
  • Height: 0.5 in
  • Width: 4 in

Step1: Disconnect power supply completely and check equipment is de-energized before servicing.

Step2: Remove access panel and trace existing wire routing from terminal to connection point.

Step3: Detach old wire from both female insulated tabs and inspect terminals for damage.

Step4: Install new wire assembly, ensuring correct routing and secure tab connections.

Step5: Refit panel, restore power, and test circuit continuity and proper operation under load.

Step6: Ensure insulation is intact to prevent short circuits or electrical hazards.

  • What maintenance is required for the Hobart 428428-000G1 Wire Assembly?

Inspect the wire assembly regularly for cracked insulation, heat damage, or loose terminal connections that may affect electrical continuity. Ensure both insulated tabs are securely fastened and free from corrosion. Keep the wiring routed away from sharp edges and high-heat components. Replace immediately if any signs of fraying, arcing, or intermittent connection are observed to maintain better operation.

  • What are common issues with the Hobart 428428-000G1 Wire Assembly?

    • Frayed or damaged insulation causing electrical shorts.
    • Loose or corroded female terminal connections.
