The Atlas Metal 6055-1 Door Latch With Strike works by inserting its latch mechanism into the strike plate that is provided to hold the door in place when it is closed. It works by a simple catch-and-release mechanism that enables easy opening and closing as the parts fit in place. This latch is placed on the edge of the door and the strike is on the frame so that it can fit well.
