Description

The Hobart 6770A Pilot Tube 3/16" x 24" directs gas on the supply connection to the pilot burner through the tube, where gas can flow through the tube and feed the pilot flame to ignite. As the gas passes its fixed diameter and length, it turns the flow in the same direction all the way to the pilot assembly to assist in lighting the main burner. This pilot tube is fitted in a compatible gas cooking equipment, fitting, and the pilot burner in such a way that the flame is directed towards the burner ports. Its shaped form enables it to be routed around the internal parts.

Dimensions:

  • Weight: 0.1 lbs
  • Length: 4 in
  • Height: 24.5 in
  • Width: 0.4 in

Step1: Turn off gas supply and disconnect electrical power, check the unit is fully cool and depressurized.

Step2: Open service panels and remove the existing pilot tube from burner and gas connection points.

Step3: Fit the new pilot tube following the original routing path, avoiding sharp bends or kinks.

Step4: Secure all fittings tightly, ensuring proper alignment at the pilot assembly.

Step5: Restore gas supply, ignite pilot, and confirm a stable, consistent flame.

  • What maintenance is required for the Hobart 6770A Pilot Tube?

Inspect the pilot tube regularly for carbon buildup, grease blockage, or debris that can restrict gas flow. Clean carefully using compressed air or approved fine tools without damaging the tube opening. Check fittings for tightness and proper alignment during palced. Replace the tube if corrosion, cracks, or deformation are found to ensure better ignition performance.

  • What are common issues with the Hobart 6770A Pilot Tube?

    • Clogged tube reducing or preventing pilot flame.
    • Weak or inconsistent ignition performance.
    • Misalignment causing poor burner lighting.
    • Gas flow restriction from debris or carbon buildup.
    • Cracks or corrosion leading to leaks or risky operation.
