The Hobart 718380 Door Strike works by making the door latch fit into strike plate to hold door closed. It is automatically activated when the door is closed and deactivated when the lever or handle of the door is used. It is installed in the frame of a commercial and industrial door and fits essentially into the frame, offering a functional and clean integration. It is usually attached to the door jamb, to make sure that door is closed smoothly against the frame, and that it is in a better position.
