The Manitowoc 76-2781-3 Ice Machine Thickness Probe is applied to track the process of ice formation when the ice slab has attained a certain thickness in the freeze cycle. It works by detecting the presence of the forming ice and sending the signal to the control system to continue with the harvest sequence. This probe is inserted in the evaporator compartment of any compatible ice machine and it is installed to fit in the direction of the ice growth. The probe has a sensing length of 3-1/4" and is approximately 4".
