The Southbend 8-6011 Cathodic Descaler operates by applying a regulated stream of electrical current in the prevention and removal of scale in the water-heating and plumbing systems. It uses low-voltage, continuous current on metal surfaces, which interferes with the formation of mineral deposits and corrosion prevention. The unit is intended to be integrated into commercial kitchen equipment and water lines and the unit is mounted at strategic points in the system where water moves, near boilers, heat exchangers or piping inlets.
