The Southbend B93-00008 Flame Sensor is used to determine the presence of flame in the burner by detecting the electrical current that is produced when the flame conducts between the sensor rod and the ground. This signal is transmitted to the ignition control, and gas flow is continued when a flame is detected and ceased when no signal is received. This flame sensor is placed close to the burner, and the 90-degree design will place the sensing rod directly in the flame. It is also linked to the control system with one lead and is mounted with standard parts.
