The Edlund A930SP Can Opener Steel Plated Base W/Insert #1 provided a stable base to the assembly and attached to a work surface or countertop. The base provides a fixation to the opener such that when in the cutting mechanism, it can get to the can lid in the correct manner when working. It is the workstation of similar manual can openers, and is fixed using hardware in pre-drilled holes. This steel base is designed to have one substituted due to being bent, cracked, or unable to hold the opener firmly during normal usage.
