Description

The Garland G01479-01 Range Safety Gas Valve TS11J works by checking the standing pilot flame by connecting a thermocouple to ensure that an open internal flow path is maintained. As the pilot heat produces a millivolt signal, an electromagnetic coil keeps the valve open but instantly closes to cut off the supply of gas in case the flame goes out. This is fitted in line between the main gas supply manifold and the heated burner assembly in the appliance chassis.

Step1: Turn off gas supply and ensure system is cool and depressurized before starting installation.

Step2: Remove old valve carefully and clean all pipe threads to ensure proper sealing.

Step3: Apply approved thread sealant, then attach the Garland safety valve securely to inlet/outlet ports.

Step4: Install CCT reducer fittings as required and align flow direction correctly.

Step5: Tighten all connections, check alignment, and perform a leak test using soapy water before restoring gas.
