The Henny Penny 84282-005 Fryer Sprocket Pawlnuts Select V Assembly operates by turning on the drive gear to allow for the controlled mechanical rotation of internal parts of the unit. These pawls contact the sprocket teeth, when the motor is on, but they do not connect to the bracket teeth when the machine is off during the cooking cycle, so they do not cause backward slippage.
