The pre-filter captures airborne particles as exhaust air passes through the filtration surface, helping reduce the amount of particulate matter entering the downstream hood and exhaust arrangement. Its 16" X 20" X 2" dimensions define the physical filter configuration, while the MERV-8 rating identifies its designated filtration classification.

\n

Contaminant Filtration:
Captures grease particles, dust, and cooking residue from the airflow before they enter downstream filtration stages. The filter media provides a mechanical barrier that retains larger contaminants while allowing air to continue through the ventilation path. Regular inspection helps identify accumulation that could progressively restrict airflow.

\n

Airflow Support:
Helps maintain the intended airflow path by reducing the amount of airborne debris entering the ventilation assembly. A clean and properly positioned pre-filter allows air to pass through the filtration system with less obstruction, while excessive contaminant buildup can increase airflow resistance.

\n

Replacement Guidelines:
Replace the Wells 2I302579 Griddle Universal Hood Pre-Filter when the filter becomes visibly loaded, damaged, deformed, or restricts the intended exhaust airflow. Select the replacement by matching the filter dimensions, MERV-8 filtration classification, hood configuration, and applicable Wells equipment requirements.

\n

Common Failure Symptoms:

\n\n

Equipment Compatibility:
Intended for compatible Wells commercial griddle hood systems requiring the 2I302579 pre-filter configuration. Verify the equipment model, hood filtration arrangement, filter dimensions, MERV classification, and original manufacturer part number before ordering to ensure the correct component is selected.
