The True 870838 Door Hinge Kit forms part of the door mounting assembly and works with the supporting hardware to maintain the intended pivot position and alignment. During repeated operation, the hinge transfers the door's load to the mounting structure while allowing controlled movement around the hinge point. Its top-left orientation and configuration help maintain the intended door arrangement, positioning, and closing alignment.

\n

Door Alignment:
The upper pivot point created by the True 870838 Door Hinge Kit guides the refrigerator door through its opening and closing movement. It helps maintain the door's position relative to the cabinet, reducing unwanted shifting during repeated use. Proper hinge alignment also helps distribute the door's load through the supporting structure, allowing controlled movement and helping the door return to its intended closed position.

\n

Sealing Support:
Proper hinge positioning helps the door follow its intended closing path and sit evenly against the cabinet when closed. This allows the door gasket to maintain consistent contact around the cabinet opening, helping limit unwanted air exchange. A properly positioned hinge therefore contributes to stable door closure and supports the gasket's intended sealing function during normal operation.

\n

Replacement Guidelines:
Replace the Door Hinge Kit if the hinge is cracked, bent, deformed, worn, loose, or no longer supports proper door movement and alignment. The part number 870838 and hinge configuration should be verified before replacement to ensure the correct hinge kit is selected. Replace the hinge kit if deterioration affects door alignment, support, movement, closing, or normal equipment operation.

\n

Common Failure Symptoms:

\n\n

Equipment Compatibility:
The True 870838 Door Hinge Kit is a top-left (LH) hinge with a specific configuration. Verify the equipment model, hinge position, dimensions, and part number before ordering.
