It is linked to the electrical system of the skillet, and a controlled spark is sent to the tip. This is to be installed and is placed close to the ignition assembly so that it can properly spark and yet is not too close to other components. Its long 38" wire is able to be installed in the appliance to fit in different culinary arrangements without having to make further adjustments.
