The Pitco PP11296 Griddle Pilot Burner/Ignitor Assembly burns the main burner with the help of a small pilot flame, which is produced with the help of natural gas to start the combustion process. The ignitor produces a spark to ignite pilot which then activates the gas valve to let the gas flow to the main burner. The assembly can be installed in commercial griddles and it is mounted directly adjacent to the burner to offer better ignition and connection with the gas control system of the appliance.
