The Alto-Shaam RP-3952 Porcelain Socket is a part that supports and holds a light bulb, providing a secure base with electrical contacts through which current passes into the lamp. On applying voltage to the terminals, the bulb is powered, and it lights up in the equipment. It is mounted in compatible cooking or foodservice units so that the bulb extends into the area to be illuminated, while the socket remains attached to the housing or frame. The porcelain body insulates the contacts and resists the heat produced by the lamp.
