Description

The Keating 004236 Pressure Regulator regulates the flow of natural gas by lowering high inlet pressure to a constant outlet pressure to ensure that related appliances are functioning properly. It works on a diaphragm principle which automatically adapts to variations in supply pressure to keep the output constant at 1/2 PSI in the 3" to 6" WC range. This regulator is designed to fit in a 3/4" FPT gas line and can be placed in a position ahead of stoves, ovens, or any other gas-powered equipment so that pressure can be regulated safely and correctly and the system can be easily operated.

Step1: Shut off the gas supply and disconnect appliance power before starting installation.

Step2: Remove the old regulator and clean the pipe threads and fittings.

Step3: Apply gas-approved thread sealant to male threads only.

Step4: Mount the new regulator with the flow arrow pointing toward the appliance.

Step5: Secure all connections firmly while avoiding excessive force.

Step6: Turn the gas supply back on and test all connections with a soap-and-water leak solution.

Step7: Confirm the outlet pressure is within the range before operating equipment.

  • What maintenance is required for the Keating 004236 Pressure Regulator?

Inspect the regulator routinely for leaks and ensure stable gas output pressure. Clean exterior surfaces to prevent grease or dust accumulation that could affect operation. Verify all threaded connections remain secure. Replace internal seals or diaphragm components if pressure becomes inconsistent.

  • What are common issues with the Keating 004236 Pressure Regulator?

    • Unstable or drifting gas pressure readings.
    • Gas leakage at threaded connections.
    • Internal diaphragm wear reducing control accuracy.
    • Restricted gas flow from internal blockage.
