The Manitowoc 7627813 Ice Machine Thickness Probe controls the amount of ice produced by detecting the amount of ice accumulated on the evaporator surface. The probe senses contact as the ice increases and transmits a signal that activates the next step of the machine cycle. It is fixed in the evaporator compartment of specific ice machines, and is projected into the ice-forming space. The probe has a total length of 4" and 3-1/4" active sensing. Its structure allows proper timing of the cycle depending on the ice thickness.

Installation Steps

Step2: Remove the access panel to reach the existing probe.

Step3: Disconnect wiring from the old ice thickness probe carefully.

Step4: Mount the new probe in the same location and secure it firmly.

Step5: Reconnect all wiring according to manufacturer specifications.

Step6: Reattach the access panel, restore power, and test the ice machine for proper thickness detection.
