The Garland 2195000 Range Surface Heating Element 8" DIA 2100W 208V works by transforming electrical energy into heat to warm cookware that is put on the cooking surface. It operates by a resistive coil which heats up when turned on and takes the heat upwards to aid in several cooking activities. This heating component is placed on the stovetop surface of the range, installed in the burner opening and attached to the electrical system of the unit to allow controlled heating when it is in operation.
