The Garland 2200602 Thermocouple 24-inch is designed to check the presence of a pilot flame in a commercial oven. When the flame heats the signal it produces a small voltage signal that turns the gas valve in the oven to ensure safe operation. It is placed close to the burner, acting as a safety measure in that the gas supply will be developed when ignition is verified. It is also used in industry and restaurant ovens to offer accurate flame sensing, which stabilizes cooking temperature as well as the system in high-usage kitchens.
