The Vulcan Hart VH111170-1 Door Strike works by locking the doors using an electromagnetic mechanism in a way that when the door is pressed, the mechanism will lock the door and only allow access to the door when it is pressed once more. It operates by getting an electrical signal that unlocks the strike plate so that the door can be opened without the use of a human hand. It is made to fit properly within the door frame and designed to be installed in commercial or industrial door frames hence a discrete and built-in appearance.
