The Vulcan Hart 00-844492 1/2" NPT cast body vacuum breaker with chrome metal cap is used to prevent backflow. This device works in manner that, whenever negative pressure is established in the system, it admits air into the operational system, thus, breaking the vacuum to eliminate risk of contamination.
