The Vulcan Hart 412788-00048 Thermocouple 48" is a part that produces an electrical signal when heated by a pilot flame that is used to signal the gas valve to stay open during operation. The fire is put out and the signal is turned off which causes the electricity supply to be turned off. This is placed close to the pilot assembly or area of the burner in commercial cooking equipment. It has a 48-inch lead that is designed to connect the flame-sensing point to the gas control system.
