The Garland 1019436 Oven Thermocouple 36" Long 20-30mV T-46 is the presence of a pilot flame and produces a millivolt signal when heated. The gas safety system receives that signal to permit the flow of gas when the correct flame conditions are observed. The thermocouple is connected to the gas valve by the lead and threaded connection to transmit the signal. It is a component that is placed close to the pilot burner assembly and its sensing tip is directly exposed to the flame in compatible Series equipment.
