The Frymaster 8070918 Direct Spark Ignition Module Lockout 5EA 1/4" Tab Terminals operates by receiving a call-for-heat signal and generating a high voltage to ignite the gas-air mixture at the burner during the startup sequence. It operates through an internal control circuit that activates the spark electrode while also coordinating gas valve opening, and it monitor flame presence to confirm ignition. If flame is not detected within the preset 11-second time frame, the module triggers a lockout to stop operation until reset.
