The Star Mfg E6-Y9691 Pilot Kit LP works by controlling the flame to the burner assembly in the appliance to enable the ignition process to start in a smooth manner when gas is turned on. It works by using a mixture of tubing, fittings and a pilot burner that is used to ensure a constant source of flame to ensure a consistent start-up. The kit is installed in the inside gas system of the appliance usually in the area close to the main burner where the pilot flame can easily connect to the primary ignition sequence without being interrupted.
