The Fogel HA349A Hinge Assembly operates on a cam-lift mechanism whereby a rising helical ramp is used to raise the door a little during the rotation of the door. This mechanical design involves the use of gravity to draw the door back down the ramp so that it acts as a self-closing mechanism to keep the door tightly sealed when the door is released. The component is attached to the door edge and the cabinet frame and, in particular, needs an offset to match the unit face.
