The Tri-Star 340131 Pilot Assembly Natural Gas works by offering a small continuous flame that is used as the ignition source by the main burner in heating cycles. It operates by controlling the flow of gas to the pilot tip where the flame is kept alive so that when the system requires heat and the burner is ignited. This assembly is mounted close to the burner compartment of the appliance and is attached to the gas supply line to provide a steady stream of ignition as the appliance is used.
