The Anets P8905-38 Coaxial Thermopile operates by transforming heat produced by a pilot flame into a small electrical signal which triggers gas control components of heating equipment. It operates based on several thermocouple junctions arranged in a coaxial configuration which amplifies the amount of millivoltage generated when in contact with uniform flame. This thermopile is mounted close to the burner and pilot assembly, mounted in a location where it can be exposed to the flames directly but not be damaged by the flames in the internal heating chamber of the appliance.
