The Southbend 1127299 Air Shutter Assembly Burner Twin Plates 2 Slots is used to regulate the ratio of incoming air and gas to assist in proper ignition of the burner and the formation of the flame. The adjustable shutter is used to either open or shut off airflow when gas is flowing through the burner to enable steady combustion to take place. It is installed at the burner inlet of compatible two-slot twin-plate burners, which is in line with the venturi section to control the airflow. The assembly is made to be a direct replacement part and contains the shutter mechanism.
