The Hobart 410839-00004 Thermopile 36" is a safety sensor used in gas-operated heating equipment to generate a small millivolt electrical signal from heat exposure at the pilot flame. It operates through a series of thermocouples that convert thermal energy into low-voltage output, which is used to maintain gas valve activation during burner operation, and shut off fuel flow if the pilot flame is lost. Designed with a 250–750mV output range and a two-lead configuration, this component is installed in compatible commercial ovens and gas systems where it connects between the pilot assembly, and the gas control valve for ignition safety control.
