The American Range A11100 Range Thermocouple 182°C works by detecting the presence of heat on the pilot flame and producing a millivolt signal to keep the gas flowing. Depending on the presence of the flame, the electrical output is varied to enable controlled burning of the flame. This component is in the range next to the pilot assembly. It is rated at 20-30 millivolts, has an 18" length and is connected directly to the gas valve circuit. The thermocouple is designed to fit the equipment of the 1980 Series and is compatible with standard ignition systems.
