The Imperial 1137 Thermocouple 20-30mV 1980 Series detects heat from the pilot flame and converts it into a small electrical signal to keep the gas valve open during operation. When the pilot flame turns out, the thermocouple stops generating voltage, which causes the gas supply to shut off automatically. This component is commonly installed in commercial cooking equipment within the pilot burner assembly, where flame sensing and gas flow control are required. The 48" length allows routing through equipment interiors while maintaining a connection between the pilot system and gas valve components for consistent ignition monitoring.
