Wash Arm

Dishwasher Wash Arm

The dishwasher wash arm distributes water to clean dishes thoroughly. It is typically located at the bottom and/or top of the dishwasher and spins in a circular motion to cover all areas of the dishwasher. The wash arm is responsible for removing any food particles, grease, and grime from dishes, ensuring that they are spotlessly clean. Most dishwashers have two wash arms, one at the top and another at the bottom, to ensure maximum cleaning efficiency.

The dishwasher wash arm design and number of spray jets determine the amount of water pressure and distribution. It ensures that all dishes receive adequate water coverage. Some wash arms come with adjustable pressure settings to cater to different types of dishes, such as delicate glassware and sturdy pots and pans.

Over time, food particles, soap scum, and minerals can accumulate on the wash arm and clog the spray jets, reducing its effectiveness. To prevent this, it is recommended to remove the wash arm periodically and clean it with a soft-bristled brush and warm soapy water. By doing this, you can extend the life of your dishwasher and keep your dishes clean and sanitized.
