How to Replace Refrigerator Fan Motor?

How to Replace Refrigerator Fan Motor?

Is your refrigerator not cooling like it used to? Is your food getting spoiled easily? There must be an issue in one of the parts of your refrigerator’s cooling and temperature regulation. A fan motor is one of the most essential parts of this mechanism. You must figure out if it is this part of your kitchen equipment that isn’t working well. Most folks put together the choicest appliances in their home and commercial kitchens after carefully screening its characteristics. You might not want to go hunting for another refrigerator after you purchased the perfect model that suited the dimensions and colour codes of your modular kitchen’s décor. One piece of advice that often goes missing in such a market driven atmosphere is that replacing the parts of a big machine is sometimes more effective than buying a new one altogether. You can find the best of fan motor replacement parts and other kitchen equipment parts all here at PartsFE where we diligently curate lists of up-and-coming kitchen equipment products throughout the year.

In modern industrial plants, fans and their engines have become indispensable. Whether for factory ventilation, cooling cold stores or fresh air - there are fan motors everywhere. The different fans are hardly different in function, but in their area and in their field of application. It is easy to recognize that a cooling fan is needed to fulfil other conditions as a ventilator for air conditioning systems. Control and energy conservation should be given additional attention. Legislation has alerted the need for more energy efficient and sustainable models of fan motors and other machine equipment. There are several ways to control fan motors, and the most effective option is by frequency inverters.

On refrigerators that have a condenser coil on the base of the cabinet, inside the compressor case, a condenser fan is used. The fans run through the front grille while the compressor is running and draws cool room air through it and pushes it through the condenser coils, over the compressor and then back up into the room. The movement of air helps to cool the condenser belt and cool the coolant. The water in the drain pan is often evaporated by the air.

The refrigerant temperature rises and the compressor will overheat then the fan stops. The food will spoil eventually. In order to power the condenser fan engine, first disconnect the fridge and take it off of the wall. Remove from the engine compartment the rear access cover. To remove the fan blades, engine and condenser, use a paintbrow. Then completely vacuum the place.

To replace the motor, follow its two wires back to the terminal block and remove                       them using a pair of needle-nose pliers.

First, use either a nut driver or screwdriver to remove the mounting screws that hold the fan                   assembly and bracket onto the metal divider in the motor compartment.

Carefully remove the assembly from the motor compartment. Next, remove the fan                  blade from the motor by backing off the thin rectangular nut that secures the fan to                  the motor

  •             Next, take the fan blade and rubber washer off the motor shaft.
  •             Remove the mounting bracket from the old fan motor and install it on the new motor.
  •            Then install the rubber washer and the fan blade on the new motor. Tighten the nut, reinstall the fan assembly and attach the motor wires to the terminal block.
  •             Check that there are no wires in the way of the blade or motor and that the fan spins freely.                    Install the rear access cover, then plug the refrigerator back in and test run it.
