The Kitchen Aid 3182857 Bowl Latch Spring provides tension to the bowl latch mechanism, and the latch can be moved back to its default state. As the latch is opened or closed, the spring is stretched or compressed, and the mechanical energy is stored. It is fitted at the junction point of the latch and mixer body of compatible KitchenAid models, so it pulls the latch into place at the bowl locking mechanism.
