The Hobart 497122-1 Gas Griddle Pilot Safety Valve LP BASO operates by managing the fuel supply to the main burner system based on the status of the pilot flame. An internal electromagnet, activated by a millivolt signal from a heated thermocouple, holds the internal spring lock valve open to permit continuous gas transmission. This liquid propane assembly is plumbed inline between the main gas supply line and the burner manifold inside the appliance chassis. It includes 3/4" female pipe thread connections, an internal setting calibrated for 10" of water column pressure, and a dedicated pilot line outlet port.
