The Rational 87.00.771 Ignition Module is used to manage the cycle of gas-powered heating systems by producing and controlling the spark needed to start the burner and detect the presence of flames to securely control combustion. It connects to burning electrodes and flame detectors via the control circuitry in the appliance and processes the signals to ensure that the burner has started correctly and that it is operating securely. It is mounted in the internal control compartment next to the gas valve and burner assembly and is wired together by a particular wiring harness.
