The Southbend 9031-3 Acorn Nut 7/16-20 Thread 3" Valve works by threading onto available fittings, which allows the controlled flow through the system being connected. It is designed in such a way that it seals tightly when closed so that it does not leak accidentally. This type of valve is normally fitted on the end of a valve stem or on mechanical assemblies that need a threaded cap, and this is mounted in a flush manner with the rest of the components. Designed to fit into a typical 7/16"-20 thread.
