The Blodgett BL15637 Light Bulb PTFE Coated produces light by heating a metal filament in a closed glass envelope, when powered by a 230V power source. This is used to limit surface contamination, and the 40W rating is used to regulate the output and operating temperature. It is fitted into compatible commercial cooking or warming equipment lamp housings to light up the interior. It is constructed to operate in heated appliance environments that are common in foodservice environments. Electrical requirements are adjusted to those of equipment.
