The True E800316 Defrost Switch activates defrost cycle by sending a signal to the refrigeration system to temporarily stop the cooling and start heating elements to melt the built-up frost. The switch is used to measure time or temperature to turn on and turn off the defrost cycle and regulate the flow of current to the defrost system. It is meant to be installed in the refrigeration unit where it is placed in the control panel or circuit where it is connected to the electrical system to control the defrost sequence well.
