The Groen Z054285 Ignitor Carborundum 115V produces a spark to start gas burners by transforming electricity into heat at the tip of the ignitor. When voltage applied, the element becomes hot enough to cause ignition in the appliance. The ignitor is intended to be installed in commercial cooking equipment and it is mounted close to the burner so as to fit into the existing gas ignition system of the appliance.
