The Edlund K005M Can Opener Knife #2 is used to cut the top by inserting the can rim as the handle of the opener spins, and the blade passes through the lid seam. The cutting edge moves with the rim and the gear moves the knife in a continuous movement in order to open continuously. It is installed in the can opener cutting head, which is in contact with the gear and is held in place by the retaining hardware. It is a replacement knife, which is compatible with commercial can opener assemblies in the standard 2 configuration.
