How do you season a Keating griddle for the first time?
- Step 1: Use a moist towel to clean the cooking surface of your griddle top.
- Step 2: After thoroughly cleaning the cooking surface.
- Step 3: Turn up your main burners to the HIGH heat setting, then wait 10 to 15 minutes for your grill to heat.
- Step 4: If your griddle top's surface starts to turn dark and discolor as it heats up.
- Step 5: Start the griddle.
- Step 6: After your grill has heated sufficiently, brush cooking oil on the griddle top.
- Step 7: Disperse the oil throughout the entire cooking surface, including the edges and sides, using your tongs and a wad of paper towels.
- Step 8: Grease the top of the griddle.
- Step 9: Let it cook after the oil has been poured evenly.
- Step 10: Repeat this procedure two or three more times once it looks that most of the oil has been burned off the surface.
- Step 11: Your griddle top will be properly seasoned and ready to grill after three complete rotations.
