Before knowing things, let us see what is a food warmer? A food Warmer is an equipment where the cooked food is placed at a certain temperature inside and makes the food stay warm. Food warmers do not have a particular size and quantity they come in different sizes from large to small equipment. Having a food warmer at home is a good choice as the climate keeps on changing it helps to serve the food hot always.  

The heating element is metal-based and is inserted inside the food warmer. When an electric current is passed through the heating element, it converts the energy to the required temperature where the food can be warm. 

  • To change the heating element on a food warmer. You need to open the food warmer. In your tool kit, you will screwdriver. Using it open the food warmer, remove all the screws and secure them as you need them to refix it. While opening the top make sure there is no current supply. 
  • You will have a temperature checking machine. Where you can measure the heat resistance with that. The heat is measured in units called Ohms. 
  • When the food is not getting heated or the food is not being warm that is the time when the heating element needs to be replaced.

  • After opening the door, locate the heating element and hold its place and remove it gently. Firstly, test the electric current status. 
  • Move the heating element away from the oven and place it nearby. do not remove any wires that are connected along with them. Check the power is off by using a voltage tester at the end of the wires. 
  • Safely disconnect each wire connector from the heating element. You can use your fingers to remove them. Be relaxed while, doing this process. Do not mix or match the wires, keep them carefully with a 
  • identity placed. Use masking tape if needed and tape them to the oven wall.
  • Now remove the old heating element from the oven and open the new heating element. By reading the instructions if any manual is provided, follow them. 
  • Place the new one in the correct position and set the screw holes which are aligned. Connect the wires firmly by using your hands. 
  • Place it back inside the equipment. Make sure you have reattached the things the same way they are. Apart from these if you have removed attached any, place them back and make it ready the way it looked before.
  • Switch on the Kitchen equipment and check the temperatures.

How to test if the heating element is working?

To test the water heater element you need to follow the same steps that are mentioned above in the process of replacement. However, we shall help you with it once again.

  • To whatever equipment you are trying to check the heating element remove the top panel. If you have any other panels that need to be removed, remove them as well. If you have any soft materials inside the panels remove them as well
  • Keep a voltage test meter along with you to check the heating element, firstly combine to probs of the testing meter and you should receive a reading of 2.5ohms. Confirming your meter is good and it is all set for the testing.
  • Change the settings that are related to your temperature in the testing machine.
  • Touch the probs to the heating element and it shall show the temperature and you can match it or check whether that is the correct reading or not. If you two panels do the same exercise to the two panels and two different heating elements. 
  • Put the probs at the starting screws of the heating element that would be fine to check the heat that is being produced.
  • While testing there can be high chances of electric shocks, hence please be careful.
