The Hobart RS-032-77 Pop Rivet 0.125 works by placing the two materials together and pushing a mandrel through the pre-drilled holes and then pulling the mandrel to enlarge the rivet body, holding the pieces jointly. The mandrel is then snapped off, and a permanent connection is left to fix the materials in place. It is usually applied to sheet metal, aluminum or any other thin material and is installed in the structure where a more permanent and mechanical fastening is needed, which is a simple assembly solution.
