The Hoshizaki TS005 Thermistor with Sealant measure the temperature in an ice machine and transmits the correct reading to the control system. It works on a signal of resistance that change with the temperature so that the unit can alter its cooling operation. This part is placed in the inner sensing area of the ice machine with the sealant to ensure that it stays in position and does not get wet.
