The Garland 222040 Radiant Broiler Top Grate 4-Cross Bars & 3-Ribs is used to hold food items by giving them a raised surface to allow the heat of the burner underneath to reach the food item during cooking. The heat and flame pass through the holes in the grate as the broiler runs to reach the food surface. This broiler top grate is placed on the broiler assembly over the burner section and it is placed in the support channels that are designed.
